Meng Wanzhou – The arrest of Huawei’s Crown Princess and the 5G War

Meng Wanzhou, born in 1972, grew up in Shenzhen, the small port city that will eventually be transformed into a kind of China equivalent of Silicon Valley. As the daughter of multi-billionaire and Huawei founder Ren Zhengfei, she is a part of witnessing both the city’s and China’s transformation up close.

After graduating, Meng Wanzhou begins working as a receptionist at his father’s company. There she gets to take part in a historical journey. When Huawei 2011 for the first time goes out with the name and picture of its employees, Meng Wanzhou has advanced all the way to the top.

Meng Wanzhou’s success story just seems to continue – but then something happens that will change just about everything. In 2018, Meng Wanzhou makes a stopover in Canada, when she is suddenly arrested by security police and asked to be extradited to the United States.

The arrest of Meng Wanzhou triggers a chain of events that will leave ripples on the water for years to come. It’s part of the 5G war, and the beginning of a major political drama that will soon make life a living hell for two Canadian businessmen in China.

P3 ID to Meng Wanzhou is the story of how the anonymous CFO became the “Huawei Princess” with the entire Chinese people.

It is also a story of secret business, hostage diplomacy and China’s emergence as a digital superpower.
