It is February 2016 in Friends Arena in Stockholm. Molly Sandén is on stage in front of a giant audience. This year’s Melodifestival is to be decided and Molly is with us for the third time. She is the favorite of the gaming companies and the evening press loves her. But Molly wants to be anywhere – except right here. She has actually taken a step towards making music that means something more to her. The gut feeling about the Melodifestivalen has said no. But Molly is used to listening to what others say, she has done that since she broke through as a thirteen-year-old.
Now she stands in front of millions of TV viewers and sings a song that she does not dwell on. After the performance, Molly is so ashamed that she does not want to go out the door. She pulls the blanket over her head and feels that it is impossible to be herself.
But what she does not know is that the best has not yet happened. Molly Sandén will be rehabilitated.
P3 Music documentary about Molly Sandén is about breaking through young. About being bullied for his body and getting questions about his love life already as a sixteen-year-old. About the step from the Disney factory’s pastel colors and pasted smile – to using their own darkness and honesty in the music
