The omicron variant of the coronavirus means that many and important parts of the virus have changed in one fell swoop. In Skåne, it was estimated that 15-20 percent of the confirmed cases were omicron two weeks ago, according to information to Vetenskapsradion.
How should an ordinary Christmas party assess their vaccine protection if it has been a long time since they received the latest syringe?
How will the researchers produce antibodies that also work against omicrons, if in the future we get severe cases of disease in it as well?
Vetenskapsradion is seeking the latest knowledge together with Anders Sönnerborg, professor of infectious diseases and clinical virology at Karolinska Institutet, and Anna Lena-Spetz, professor of immunology at Stockholm University. You also hear Lisa Brouwers, head of analysis at the Swedish Public Health Agency.
