Restrictions cannot be avoided by using a coronavirus passport.
The decision closes, for example, cinemas in the Helsinki metropolitan area. Hannele Wolf-Mannila, Finnkino’s Sales Director, confirmed YLE on Thursday that the cinema chain will close all its cinemas in the Helsinki and Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS).
“In practice, this means that cinemas have to close. The screenings have to end on December 28, ”he told the broadcaster.
“This will bring about all our plans. Christmas time is the most important season of the year for cinemas, and now it is not happening. It will naturally have a big impact on all cinemas and film distributors, too, financially.”
The decision was made under section 58g of the Communicable Diseases Act, which applies to various sports and exercise facilities, including gyms and facilities for team sports, contact sports, group sports and other similar sports activities. Public spas, saunas, swimming pools, dance studios, amateur theaters, choir rehearsal venues, indoor playgrounds and common areas in shopping malls will also be closed.
However, libraries and museums remain open.
However, the above facilities can be used for organized activities of children and young people born in 2004 or later. Restrictions also do not apply to professional sports or activities covered by private or family life.
AVI for Southern Finland argued that the restrictions were justified by the deteriorating epidemiological situation in Uusimaa. According to HUS, the situation is already a threat to the region’s health care capacity.
The restrictions should both slow down the spread of the epidemic and give more time to increase the use of vaccines, the regional agency estimates.
