Driving conditions are poor in Western and Southwestern Finland all Saturday, says the road information service Fintraffic.
The company said visibility to the west and southwest was poor due to snowfall and drift.
The Finnish Meteorological Institute forecasts that road conditions in the western regions will be poor until Saturday night and will be issued warnings slippery roads in several areas.
The Finnish Meteorological Institute also warned about the cold in North Karelia on Saturday and Sunday.
Earlier this week, he was CEO of Fintraffic Pertti Korhonen, said in a statement that the company estimates that most of Finland ‘s trips during the Christmas period will be made by car.
"The pandemic has greatly changed the way Finns move between places. The proportion of trips made by car has increased significantly since the start of the pandemic. This makes it more difficult to meet emission reduction targets and reduces the physical activity associated with the use of public transport that promotes human health," Korhonen said.
"Whenever possible in connection with your trip and schedules, using public transportation during the holiday season in accordance with the health safety guidelines issued by the authorities is a sustainable choice. It is important that we continue to have efficient public transport and good mobility services as an alternative to the car," he continued.
