UK-DK Trade: Nothing beats binding like this!

UK-DK Trade: Nothing beats binding like this!

Just six and a half weeks after the film’s release, 1,000,000 tickets had been sold for the latest James Bond film, ‘No Time to Die’, in Denmark.

Have been waiting for you!
One-sixth of the population went to the cinema to watch a movie they had been waiting to enjoy for almost two years.

Fans drank martinis and stood in line in cinemas dressed as 007, quoting their favorite Bond lines with ‘British’ accents.

The network and the party around the British Bond theme demonstrated a close connection between British and Danish culture.

It turned out to be an excellent basis for doing business with each other.

Green thumb!
November gave us COP26 in Glasgow, which moved us closer to reaching the new zero targets, even though the deal was diluted in the closing moments of the conference.

The main event and the side meetings provided further opportunities for Danish and British companies and officials to work with sustainable energy solutions and build on our combined experience with wind farms in the North Sea.

This is a big business, and although we usually note the major players such as ร˜rsted and Vestas, there are hundreds of Danish and British companies involved in the complex construction and operating supply chains that generate revenue and create jobs on both sides of the North Sea. .

Encouraged eyes!
Our relationship is not just about offshore wind power.

For example, I learned that the UK is a significant supplier to the Fehmarnbelt Fixed Link Project, which will be the world’s longest immersed tunnel for both vehicles and trains when it opens in 2029.

This trade is achieved through the use of excellent collaborative relationships to understand the requirements and map them to the UK’s opportunities.

It’s so much easier to do business if the parties understand each other well. The UK and Denmark have a strong foundation, which I look forward to building on in 2022.

Happy New Year.
