The Helsinki Police Department has acquired two ATVs for the daily patrol.
In a press release, the department said vehicles will increase police mobility on the streets of the capital.
In addition to off-road driving, ATVs are suitable for directing traffic and supervising public events and demonstrations in an urban environment.
Due to its small size, the vehicle is able to move agilely, especially in alleys or in tight spaces that cannot be reached by car.
ATVs procured by the Helsinki police can reach a maximum speed of 80 kilometers per hour, and the price of an ATV equipped for police needs is estimated at around 20,000 euros.
