During the 70s and 80s, the being or not of nuclear power was a contentious issue, which involved large sections of the Swedish public, and especially the resistance was loud. Today, the discussion is rather between experts from the industry and the universities and also from the environmental organizations. But even though the conflicts have diminished, they have not been insignificant, but have contributed to a better design of the current final repository. This is what the historian of ideas Jonas Anshelm says, the researcher who has perhaps devoted most of his time to studying the question.
In the program, we get to follow the history of Swedish nuclear waste and the debate about it, and we also visit the intermediate storage Clab in Oskarshamn, where the spent nuclear fuel is now stored, waiting to be disposed of.
Participants: Jonas Anshelm, historian of ideas and professor of technology and social change at Linköping University; Maria Fornander, communicator Clab.
