Finnish director Juho Kuosmasen Title No. 6 has not been nominated for an Oscar.
The film was chosen as the best international feature film in Finland, and it was in December, among other 15 proposals.
The final list of nominees for this year’s best international feature film was released on Tuesday and Title No. 6 did not perform surgery. The awards will be presented at a gala on March 27 in Los Angeles.
The only Finnish feature film that has been nominated for an Oscar so far Aki Kaurismäki‘s Man without a pastwhich was selected in the same category in 2003 but did not win the award.
Finnish short film Do I have to take care of everything was nominated for Best Live Film in 2012, but also didn’t claim an award.
Title No. 6based on a book of the same name Rosa Liksomhas received international recognition and won the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival last year.
It was also nominated for Best Non-English Language Film at the Golden Globe Awards Gala held earlier this year but failed to secure a win.
The drama was awarded the film critic Fipresci Award for Best Film at the Gothenburg Film Festival last weekend. Actor Seidi Haarla he also won the Best Actor award for his role in the film.
