Niikko tweeted on Tuesday that French President Emmanuel Macron or “someone else” should step in front of the media and “say that Ukraine will not join NATO.”
“Is there not a single wise head of state in the West who knows Russia?” he asked.
Although he later deleted the tweet, it attracted widespread attention. Niikko was criticized by MPs in the opening debate of the parliamentary session on Tuesday.
