Finland has extended the existing regulations related to the coronavirus to passengers arriving in the country from outside the Schengen and EU areas.
This means that until 13 March, travelers from these areas will still need to provide valid certificates of full vaccination or recovery from Covid-19 during the previous six months.
Starting next Tuesday, 15 February, those arriving from outside the EU and the Schengen area will no longer be required to have a negative Covid test result less than 48 hours old.
The change applies to passengers arriving in Finland from the United Kingdom, Russia, the United States and Turkey, among others.
The decision to change the rules was made at a government ministerial meeting on Thursday.
Finnish citizens, permanent residents and persons with a substantial reason for entry – such as family reasons – are still exempt from the above-mentioned certificates.
The regulations concerning passengers arriving from Schengen countries and non-Schengen EU countries at Finland’s borders were lifted at the beginning of this month.
