Shaurya, Arshvant, birdie machine Ojaswini shines in the 7th stage of the US Kids Golf India North series

Gurugram (Haryana) [India], February 17 (ANI): Ojaswini Saraswat, the young pint-sized champion, remained undefeated when she won her fifth straight title in the US Kids India North Series here at Classic Golf and Country Club. Ojaswini played in the category girls under 8 and under.

Saraswat shot one round under par for each of his five wins.

In the seventh round, she made a 2-under 34 in the nine-hole competition intended for her age group. One of the parents even called Ojaswini a “birdie machine”. She has consistently shot two under or better and her best was 4 under 32 in the fifth leg when she beat her opponent by eight shots.

On Thursday in the seventh leg, she shot 2 under 34 and got her toughest fight from another amazing little child, Annika Chandira, the winner in the second leg. Annika, whose parents named her son after the legendary Swedish golfer Annika Sorenstam, shortened 1-under 35.

Among the other young stars in the seventh leg was Shambhavi Chaturvedi (Girls 9 years) who won her fifth title in seven appearances, while Parnika Sharma (Girls 11-12) won for the fourth time.

In the boys’ division, Shaurya Dagar (boys under 10) won for the third time in a row when Chaitanya Pandey, who had won the first four distances, finished sharing four on Thursday. Shaurya, Arshvant and Vedant shot below par and the competition was quite fierce in their categories.

The biggest winner so far has been Rajveer Suri, who has won six times in seven competitions. The only time he did not win was in the second leg when he had to pull out and Vedant Paul, another regular US Kids Golf, won that time.

Arshvant Srivastava (boys 12), who won the first stage, has now added the titles in the sixth and seventh stages as well, as his arch-rival Bhawesh Nirwan, who won four times in seven appearances, finished third with Ayan Dubey, whose brother Anshh Dubey was second, a shot after Arshvant. The first four were within three shots.

Vedant Banerjee Sodhi (boys 13-14) also won for the third time when he knocked out Aarav Shah, who is based in Australia. Vedant shot 71 and Aarav had 72 and third place Ranveer Mitroo was third with 73, despite a nice eagle. The first six players were four over or better.
