Copenhagen is the third best city in Europe to enjoy a weekend stay with children, according to one OVO network report which included 50 sites across the continent. .
The Danish capital scored high in many different categories – especially for its clean air ranking, which placed it at the top.
OVO Network proclaimed Copenhagen as “a pioneer when it comes to air quality”, as it ranked significantly better than the other cities in the study.
Good access and security
Copenhagen is also high for access to museums (5), access to water and amusement parks (3 =) and security (top 10).
For every 1 million inhabitants, the Danish capital has 186 museums – well above the European average of 97.
Copenhagen has eight water and amusement parks per million inhabitants and tourists – again much higher than the European average of three.
Check out the kindness of Prague
At the top of the rankings was Prague, where Helsinki claimed second place and the Nordic bragging rights. Stockholm (25) and Gothenburg (29) were far away from the pace.
In the top ten were Zagreb, Edinburgh, Riga, Lisbon, Valencia, Seville and Vilnius.
In the end, Copenhagen lost points due to its high transport costs, which were the highest in the top 24.
