Will Smith (b. 1968) is a rapper, actor and self-help inspirer, raised in Philadelphia.
In the late 80’s, he and his childhood friend DJ Jazzy Jeff write themselves into music history, as they are the first hip-hop act to ever win a Grammy. The win should change Will’s life for the better, but instead be the start of a nightmare-like six months.
The tour turns 1989, when Will is headhunted by Quincy Jones. The legendary music producer is about to enter the TV industry and persuades Will to play the lead role in his new sitcom, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. The series becomes an immediate success and suddenly a whole world of possibilities in showbiz opens up for the acting debutant Will.
More than three decades later, Will Smith is at the absolute top of Hollywood. Through efforts in major films such as Bad Boys, Men in Black and Ali he has gained fans all over the world – and has been called “the most bankable star in the world” by Forbes magazine.
But when Will Smith, in the fall of 2021, releases his critically acclaimed autobiography Will, changes the image of his playful persona. For the first time, the spooky and confident mega-celebrity opens the lid on her inner self – and reveals dramatic details about her upbringing that have never before been known to the public.
