Early Thursday morning, Ukraine was invaded by Russia. Large parts of the world have condemned the aggression. But what international laws apply in the event of an outbreak of war, what consequences can the attack have for Russia in the long term and which can be more specifically prosecuted for crimes?
– Theoretically, you can hold people accountable who carry out a war. But that will only happen if you can arrest and physically bring these people to justice. But right now it is unrealistic, says Mark Klamberg, professor of international law at Stockholm University.
