Finland closes airspace to Russian traffic

Finland is preparing to close its airspace from Russian air traffic in response to Russia’s attack on Ukraine.

Minister of Transport and Communications Timo Harakka (SDP) tweeted bulletin on Saturday night.

Russia’s retaliation could seriously affect the national airline Finnair and effectively close Asian routes, according to the airline’s spokesperson. Satu Haataja.

The government has not yet announced a formal decision on the measure.

Finland’s transition to the closure of Russian aircraft will be followed by similar bans in many other European countries, which are likely to affect not only passenger traffic but also cargo traffic.
