On Thursday we woke up to a war in Europe and and everything that previously felt like probabilities suddenly became reality. The world order as we know it is now disturbed – again.
Because we thought it was over now, the state of emergency that we learned to live with for two years. During this time, life was partly put on pause, much was canceled, but above all we have not been able to take anything for granted, but we have always taken into account that everything can change at any time – if we can go to work, when we can celebrate our birthday or if we can meet at all without the risk of infecting someone or getting sick ourselves? But now we are sitting there again with daily reports of deaths on the news – but now it’s about the war instead.
But both then and now, the little life, what you call your life, is going on. Children are born, people fall in love, divorces go through and the milk runs out. We are filled with conflicting emotions and and life can seem almost surreal when bubbling joy and happiness are crowded with anger, anxiety and powerlessness – all the emotions that a war can give rise to. There is a kind of emotional roar.
In Body & Soul in P1, we will capture this particular emotional roar and we want to hear from you who are listening. What emotions have the last few days aroused in you? How are you affected by the war and all the reporting around it? And you who have experiences of war, what does the impending situation in you evoke?
