SD on Swedish membership in NATO
The Sweden Democrats have already been in favor of a so-called NATO option, ie that the Swedish government should state that Sweden can join NATO if we want to, but have always maintained its principled opposition to joining the defense alliance. But Russia’s invasion of Ukraine means that the party is now ready to reconsider that position, says Aron Emilsson.
Today, all four bourgeois parties think that Sweden should join NATO. If the Sweden Democrats agree with that position, it would mean that there is a majority in the Riksdag for Swedish membership.
