The 12 teams that won their qualifying series advance to the Davis Cup group stage in mid-September, joining Croatia 2021 plus invited with wildcards Great Britain and Serbia.
Russia would have advanced automatically as champion in 2021, but the country has been suspended from national competitions by the International Tennis Federation. Davis Cup officials plan to add a replacement for Russia.
