On Monday, the Finnish Red Cross will send personnel and resources from its Tampere logistics center to Ukraine to help the victims of the Russian attack.
According to the Finnish branch of the humanitarian group, the consignment includes a small logistics office and two cars.
The field office will coordinate the distribution of aid to those in need, and staff are expected to travel to Ukraine on Wednesday.
"Delivering aid at Ukraine’s internal borders is currently very challenging due to the violence and the ever-changing security situation." Head of International Disaster Relief at the Finnish Red Cross Marko Korhonen told Yle.
"The task of the logistics unit is to plan and implement a transport connection from Lublin, Poland, onwards, so that relief supplies can be delivered safely to Ukraine and distributed there to the weakest."
Tampere-based Aamulehti said the first batch of relief supplies – including tents, blankets and sleeping pads – was sent from the cityโs logistics center to Ukraine on Friday.
