Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson says at the press conference that Sweden and Finland have written a letter to the other EU member states reminding them of the clause in the Lisbon Treaty which states that the other member states are obliged to support the country being attacked.
The Prime Minister says at the press conference that Sweden and the EU will suffer counter-sanctions from Russia after the country placed the entire EU on its list of unfriendly countries.
Prior to the meeting, both the Moderates and the Liberals demanded that the government initiate discussions on NATO membership, something that the Social Democrats had previously rejected.
