Vetenskapsradion Historia takes the tempo of Russia’s tactics during the invasion of Ukraine and discusses Russian war history with the defense historian Lars Ericson Wolke at the Swedish National Defense College.
“Russian warfare has deep roots in World War II and the Cold War, but it has not worked in Ukraine,” he said.
The experiences of Grozny in the 1990s, in Afghanistan in the 1980s, in Prague in 1968 and during the Winter War in Finland have parallels in today’s invasion where Russia seems to be making the same strategic and tactical mistakes as before, with catastrophic casualties.
In addition, the Panel meets with Jonathan Lindström, Annika Sandén and Kristina Ekero Eriksson to discuss the situation in Ukraine and this year’s International Women’s Day with historical glasses.
The host is Tobias Svanelid.
