Marina Ovsyannikova showed a sign on Russian television
The newscaster was presenting a feature – then her colleague, the editor Marina Ovsyannikova stepped into the picture behind her. In her hands she held a sign with the words “STOP WAR” written in large, black letters.
The increase was hailed as brave.
– It is very startling to see someone run forward and protest against the official line, says Swedish Radio’s former Moscow correspondent Fredrik Wadström.
