“80% of Finns are worried about the effects of the Ukrainian war on the Finnish economy and 50% are worried about the effects of the war on their own economy. About one in eight Finns has postponed larger purchases due to the war,” says the research director. Kari Tervonen About another PHD.
Almost two-thirds of Finns hope that the European Union will support Ukraine even more strongly. About a third of working-age Finns themselves have supported Ukraine with monetary or goods donations. About 7% of households even express a willingness to be ready to accommodate Ukrainian refugees if needed, and a further 11% are somewhat prepared to consider this.
The biggest difference in attitudes between men and women is the clearly higher support of men (48% vs 27%) in delivering military and other military assistance to Ukraine.
One-fifth of Finns do not take a stand on Russia’s operations or better understand Russia’s operations. For example, 10% believe that the war in Ukraine has been treated too much from one point of view only in the media.
During the period 14-20 March 2000, Finns aged 18-70 were interviewed by the marketing agency TeinePHD. Another PHD has conducted a previous study of Finnish attitudes to the war in Ukraine two weeks earlier.
