Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the resulting sanctions on Russia affect Finnish companies, according to a study conducted by the Chamber of Commerce.
The majority of companies that responded to the survey – 62 per cent – said the ongoing crisis had made it difficult for them to operate. However, only one-fifth of respondents expect revenue to decline from the previous year.
The Chamber of Commerce estimates that many companies are still recovering from the effects of the Covid-19 crisis. The war in Ukraine has led to disruptions in key supplies, exacerbating the situation.
One third of the companies that responded to the survey reported that they were in difficulty due to a shortage of supply. In addition, 40 percent revealed that rising prices for raw materials and components, another consequence of the war, have limited their activities.
The survey, conducted in mid-March, involved 2,000 companies operating in various industries in Finland.
