- changes in daily treatment times
- changes in the day care fee
- a new day care facility or provider
- the child starts early childhood education organized by the municipality
- the child begins preschool or a two-year preschool experiment.
Notification is not required if there are no changes in childcare arrangements or if the child is in municipal early childhood education or if parents are paid home care allowance.
Kela pays private day care support on the basis of a care contract. The maximum amount of support is the agreed day care fee. In all cases, the support is paid directly to the early childhood education provider.
If there is a change in day care times or the child is temporarily absent from early childhood education, Kela may continue to pay private day care support. Under an agreement between the parents and the early childhood education provider, the payment made by the parents may be suspended for as long as the notified change is in force. Even if the parents do not pay the day care fee, Kela’s payment to the early childhood education provider can continue as normal.
