Tampere Airport is set to increase internationally with the opening of new destinations this spring.
On Monday, SAS and the Latvian airline AirBaltic announced the launch of direct flights from Tampere to Oslo and Copenhagen.
According to the CEO of AirBaltic, the services are scheduled to start in May. Martin Gauss.
Last December, AirBaltic announced that Tampere Airport’s first new base outside the Baltics will offer direct flights to seven European destinations, including Oslo, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, Munich, Malaga, Rhodes and Riga.
The Oslo and Copenhagen services are operated in accordance with a codeshare agreement with SAS. The agreement allows SAS to add codes to flights operated by AirBaltic and to sell tickets for these flights in the same way as its own.
AirBaltic’s flights to Frankfurt and Munich, on the other hand, operate under a codeshare agreement with Lufthansa in Germany.
