Pertti Lindgren was born in 1936 in Finland and life begins with a war. He comes to Sweden as a child of war, only five years old. His father has died at the front, his mother is destitute and can not keep him.
In Sweden, he ends up with a well-to-do family, five hundred miles and a cosmos from the life he has left behind. Even though opinions differ about what really happens to the family in Avesta, Pertti begins to dream of a different, richer and bigger life.

During the 1970s and 80s, big headlines were created in the daily press about the sun and spring, the womanizer and the deceiver Pertti Lindgren. In an autobiography he writes about his destinies and adventures and that image of him prevails over 50 years. But what is the dream of a more exciting life and what is reality?
Here, for the first time, his child gives his picture of father Pertti and the woman who is the plaintiff in the only court case in Sweden where Pertti Lindgren has been charged tells of a deadly love attempt in Västerås in 1961.
