Former US President Barack Obama will visit the central Jutland town of Skive on 12 June.
He will be a guest at KulturCenter Skive, where he will participate in a moderate discussion on entrepreneurship, green change and climate challenges.
The center promises “a super exciting conversation with him on current topics”, and it has confirmed that the moderator will not be a journalist.
In addition to visiting Denmark, Obama will also visit Spain.
Busy, busy, busy
Last night, the visit was confirmed by KulturCenter Skive leader Knud Bjerre.
“The confirmation of the event finally fell into place last night, and many months of hard work lie ahead,” he said.
โThere is a huge amount of work in it. We’ve been working on it for a year and a half, and it’s obviously taken a little extra time because of the corona. This is the first visit after the pandemic where Barack Obama comes to Europe to give a speech. So it’s big, and it’s only succeeded because of good contacts and perseverance, perseverance, perseverance. โ
Obama last visited Denmark in 2019 when he gave a lecture in Aalborg. A year before, he visited another Jutland town, Kolding. His last visit to the capital was when Copenhagen hosted the COP15 climate summit in 2009.
