Finland will send additional material assistance to Ukraine, the Ministry of Defense announced in a press release on Thursday.
Ukraine has repeatedly asked for more help from both the European Union and NATO members since the Russian invasion on 24 February.
The exact information on the content, delivery method and schedule of Finland’s material assistance is hidden so that it can be delivered safely, the ministry stated.
However, the authorities have confirmed that the additional assistance has taken into account both the needs of Ukraine and the current resources of the Finnish Defense Forces.
"Finland has supported Ukraine in many ways, including with defense equipment. Ukraine is in dire need of further assistance. We will increase the amount of defense equipment we send to Ukraine," Minister of Defense Antti Kaikkonen (Cen) said in a press release announcing the decision.
