According to the Danish data, there is currently no indication that the new sub-variants entail an increased risk of hospitalization compared to the tribe that is currently dominant in Denmark.
The number of COVID-19-related admissions fell by 20 percent to 455 in week 17 – the age group 70-89 is still the largest group of these.
Deaths related to COVID-19 also decreased during the same period, from 90 in week 16 to 74 in week 17.
