Cornelia Jakobs: Then it said click – hear the love story behind “Hold me Closer”

– Cornelia competes in semifinal 2 in

Isa and Cornelia got to know each other already in primary school and their fathers competed at the same in the 2006. Isa’s father, Melodifestival legend Bobby Ljunggren, had written Carola’s song “Eternity” and Cornelia’s father Jakob Samuel was the front man in the rock group The Poodles.

– We realized that our fathers were part of the Melodifestivalen and then we joined the tour, says Cornelia.

David Zandén had Cornelia worked with a bit before, but it was only when the idea for a song for this year’s Melodifestival came that Isa and Cornelia came to think of David again.

– They called me and said they would come at 11. Then they pushed it forward to 12 and then to 13. I think they finally came to the studio at 16, David remembers. At the time, I thought they totally disgusted me.

Cornelia Jakobs: It took a while before it said “click”

David first got to comfort and support when Cornelia told about the breakup from her expo boyfriend. But when the song was finished, the loss became too great.

– I saw directly on Cornelia that something was going on, Isa adds laughing.

Now Cornelia Jakobs competes with her best friend Isa and her boyfriend David by her side. But they can not keep eye contact during the number;

– No, greenrooms are unfortunately too far from the stage, but the main thing is that I know they are there, Cornelia concludes.
