The Fourth Walking and Cycling Forum focuses on promoting and informing walking

The and in forum will be held as an online event on 18 May 2022. The forum, organized by the Ministry of and Communications, the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom and the Finnish Transport Agency, supports the goals of national operations. A program to promote walking and cycling.

The event will be opened by the Minister of Transport and Communications Timo Harakka, which discusses the current state of the program. The program, published in 2018, aims to increase the amount of walking and cycling from the 2016 level by 30 percent by 2030. The transition from private cars to walking and cycling should take place especially where distances and routes allow.

-The use of fossil should be abandoned for climate and safety reasons and to ensure independence. Walking and cycling are already fossil-free , says Minister Harakka.

Focus on promoting walking
