Three parties against
The primary reason for doubt is lack of knowledge on the subject and uncertainty about what Denmark will gain by abolishing the Defense Reserve.
Another concern is that Denmark may find itself in military operations in which it does not wish to participate.
If you look at the political spectrum, the only three parties that are not in favor are the Danish People’s Party, the Unity List and Nye Borgerlige.
The government (Social Democrats), the Left, the Conservatives, the Radicals and the Socialist People’s Party are all in favor of voting yes – a central argument is that Denmark must adjust in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
