Support for the energy infrastructure project is higher for men and older age groups than for women and younger age groups. The project received the most support among the respondents who identified themselves as supporters of the Basic Finns or the Coalition Party and the least among the respondents who identified themselves as supporters of the Greens or the Left Alliance.
A thousand people responded to the information society’s survey. The margin of error for the results is +/- 3.1 percentage points.
Construction of the countryโs sixth nuclear power plant was halted in early May. Fennovoima, a nuclear power company founded by an energy and industrial company group in Finland, terminated its supplier agreement with Rosatom, a Russian state-owned nuclear power company that owns a minority stake in the project.
