The Finnish FA fines the club for fan racism

The Finnish Football Association has fined the football team KuPS a total of 300 euros for the racist abuse of a fan. Mohammad Al-Emara during the match last month.

The incident happened during a match between Veikkausliiga KuPS and HJK on May 29, when one of the crowd shouted racist remarks at Al-Emara’s referees.

In a tweet released on Friday, Al-Emara thanked a supporter from Kuopio who "boldly intervened" during the incident and then informed him of a racist shout.

The FA’s Disciplinary Committee fined the club after deciding that the person had acted in a way that could be considered a breach of .

The game’s jury or other security personnel did not intervene because they did not hear the shout. KuPS said it has tried to identify the person who made the racist comment, but has so far been unsuccessful.

The chairman of the Disciplinary Committee of the Finnish FA stated that the activities of the club show that it has taken the case seriously.
