Kyiv – The President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen said here on Saturday that the Commission will complete the assessment of giving Ukraine EU candidate status by the end of next week, reported the news agency Ukrinform.
“The European Commission is currently preparing its recommendations – the so-called conclusion for EU member states. We have been working on this assessment day and night,” von der Leyen said at the joint press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. “Our discussions will allow us to complete this work by the end of next week.” (EU-Ukraine membership)

ANKARA – Turkey will enforce stricter restrictions on areas where foreign nationals can stay, Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu said on Saturday.
Soylu said that from 1 July, foreigners will not be able to obtain a residence permit in any district where the foreign population accounts for 20 percent of the total, and notes that up to 1,200 districts will be affected by the new regulation. (Turkey-foreign nationals)

STOCKHOLM – Incoming traffic to the Swedish capital’s international airport was redirected on Saturday when the main terminal was overcrowded with huge queues at the security gates.
Already at 04.30, road traffic to terminal 5 at Stockholm Arlanda International Airport was temporarily diverted. It was later decided that the high-speed train between Stockholm City and Arlanda Airport would not stop at the terminal, Swedish Television reported. (Sweden-Airport-Chaos)
