He currently lives in the countryside of Raseborg, surrounded by the nature subjects he depicts in his paintings. Reuter is known for his nuanced depictions of intimate natural environments and miniature creatures rendered with delightfully delicate brush strokes. His scenes of nature feed the imagination with their layering and significance.
The jury commented on his choice: “Katarina Reuter’s skilfully painted paintings show a slow, meditative quality that is often overlooked in contemporary art – the ability to stop and quietly observe her surroundings and small details. Her art is still relevant today. also because his art raises very important questions about our relationship with nature, biodiversity, and the microworlds of nature.
