The share of foreign entrepreneurs in the capital is growing. Helsinki’s startup center NewCo said that more than 42 percent of its customers had a foreign background last year, compared to 36 percent in 2018.
"I donโt want to generalize, but based on my experience and community, I feel itโs purely due to a lack of opportunity." small business owner Pukhraj Ranjan told All Points North.

"Starting a business can be the fastest way to get a job, as in Finland it can be difficult, especially for those who do not speak Finnish," said Pia PartanenNewCo’s business advisor.
