Helsingin sanomat newspaper on Sunday, several women reported allegations to the National Coalition Party legislature Wille RydmanThe 36-year-old used his political position to connect with young women and girls. However, no evidence of the crime was found during the police investigation.
Several women told HS that Rydman served them drinks and occasionally served alcohol to underage girls.
According to the newspaper, the brass of the top party had long been aware of women’s allegations of Rydman’s behavior.
The NBI began investigating Rydman in 2020 when a 17-year-old girl contacted a helpline to help sex victims. She said she had faced sexual violence by a political figure she said had harassed 14- to 17-year-old girls for ten years. These allegations eventually led police to interrogate nine women. Their preliminary investigation concluded that none of the events described by the women exceeded the threshold for further investigation.
Rydman denies the allegations, according to HS. He told Yle he was seeking legal assistance after Sunday’s news.
