All restrictions related to the corona at Finland’s external borders will end on June 30, the Ministry of the Interior stated in a press release.
This means that from the beginning of July, all travelers arriving from outside the Schengen and EU areas will no longer be required to have a vaccination certificate or a negative coronavirus test result.
In addition, Covid tests are no longer performed at border crossing points.
The decision came after the Finnish health authorities announced that there were no longer any health grounds for maintaining the restrictions, the ministry added.
The regulations concerning passengers arriving from Schengen countries and non-Schengen EU countries at Finland’s borders were lifted at the end of January.
The complete abolition of the measures from July is expected to increase traffic outside Schengen and the EU, including across the Finnish-Russian border.
The Ministry of the Interior stated that traffic volumes at the eastern border are still affected by the desire of Russians to travel to Finland and the number of valid visas.
