The news that German ships exploded off Öland, after colliding with mines, is spreading rapidly. The then young Kjell Andersson in Össby on southern Öland sees the ships sinking out there. But after the explosion, parents tell their children and teenagers not to go down to the beach anymore. It is feared that dead bodies will float ashore.
Despite the warnings, 18-year-old Stina Matsson still goes down to the beach. She finds a floating sailor hat with the German national emblem with the eagle and the swastika.
How could the accident happen and would Sweden now suffer from Hitler’s anger?
The program is made in the spring of 2022.
