Siw Ore twig Summer talks on the day 25 years after she hosted the program last time. Now she goes even further back in time, before the hundreds of records, the film, stage and television productions and the breakthrough as the winner of the Melodifestivalen in 1959.
She grew up in Landskrona in a Barnrikehus, a home for less well-off working families and learned to sing in front of the radio.
In 2016, Siw Malmkvist was elected to the Swedish Music Hall of Fame.
Siw Malmkvist about his Summer talk:
– My childhood was happy, everything was play. We were nine siblings who were loved by mother and father. It was only at school that I understood that there were different social classes and even later it dawned on me that you could have singing as a job.
Producers: Mark Levengood and Henrik Johnson
