“Housing, services, transport, business life, jobs, recreation, natural values and climate issues must be coordinated so that the city functions as a whole.”
The preparation of the master plan will begin on September 7, 2022, when the start of the zoning will be announced. First, the goals are set for the plan: which issues must be agreed upon in the general plan so that Espoo can grow sustainably until 2060. The city council will decide on the goals of the plan in early 2023.
The master plan will be completed during the next council term, after which it will be updated.
“The master plan is the city’s tool to implement the Espoo Story strategy, the city’s strategy, in land use. The world is changing so fast these days that the master plan must also keep up, Isotalo says.
The general plan is prepared in broad cooperation
