The audiobook Kvinnan by Nobel laureate Annie Ernaux
Nobel Laureate in Literature 2022, Annie Ernauxwas born in 1940 in Normandy and is today considered one of the greatest contemporary French writers.
She made her debut in 1974 with Les armoires vides but her autobiographical novels Min far and Kvinnan was Annie Ernaux’s breakthrough in the 1980s. During the 90s, she received attention for Sinnenas tid and Skammen. For The Years (2008), which has been described as a collective autobiography, she was nominated for the Booker Prize. Most recently published in Swedish are the autobiographical novels A Girl’s Memoirs and Circumstances.
Central to Annie Ernaux’s writing is the autobiographical narration and questions related to class, gender, time and memory.
