Inflation hits double digits for the first time in four decades

Budgets are blown
Since then, the price of energy, food, transport and household goods and services has risen rapidly in the wake of the war in Ukraine.

“The price increases are extreme and eating into household budgets with the most potent consumer prices in 40 years,” This is what Chief Economist at Arbejdernes Landsbank Jesper Juul Borre tells TV2 News.

“With this inflation, the average family with children has to spend around DKK 45,000 more for annual consumption. And shockingly, it’s not because they’re buying more, but simply because prices have gone up.”
