On September 6, Liz Truss took office as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and promised, among other things, major tax cuts.
When Finance Minister Kwasi Kwarteng presented a budget proposal on 23 September, the British pound plummeted. On 3 October Liz Truss withdrew the budget proposal and sacked the Chancellor of the Exchequer. Yesterday, the Minister of the Interior, Suella Braverman, also resigned.
Over ten members from their own party, the Tories, have called for Liz Truss’ resignation, according to Sky News.
