With the general election fast approaching, Blå Blok is clamoring for the need for an investigation into the Defense Intelligence Service’s (FE) foreign intelligence service and the recent imprisonment of its former chief Lars Findsen.
Conservative leader Søren Pape Poulsen and his Liberal colleague Jakob Ellemann-Jensen recently outlined the potential investigation at a press conference.

Unanswered questions
“Many Danes are wondering what is happening with the case. We need clarification in this serious matter,” said Poulsen.
The big question, they argue, which needs to be answered, is the level of Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen’s knowledge and commitment in the suspension of several of the FE management in August 2020.
The original press release that led to the suspensions will be part of the investigation, Blue Blok leaders clarified.
Bream clarification needed
The investigation must also seek to uncover whether the nature of Findsen’s suspension was political and look to confirm or deny Findsen’s claims about Defense Minister Trine Bramsen.
“Will the government confirm or deny that Trine Bramsen has told FE manager Lars Findsen that he must be sent home because she must be able to count to 90?” asked Poulsen.
Address to ministers?
Another rumor that may be subject to investigation is whether a directive was given to ministers to distance themselves from the civil service on “problematic matters”.
According to Poulsen and Ellemann-Jensen, an overall goal of the investigations should be to establish the truth of what is known and alleged, to understand how FE has been affected by the events and to increase political accountability in the government. .
