“We have a rather poor grasp of where we have built in dependence on satellites”
Space may feel distant and far away from our crisis preparedness here on earth, but the role of satellites in our everyday lives is more important than we might think. It is about navigation for planes, boats and cars, but also about time stamps for the financial sector and the military, which are becoming more and more dependent on the information that satellites can provide.
Kristoffer Hultgren works at MSB with space safety and talks to Erik about how we can prepare for knocked out satellites, space wars and about the importance of keeping that car map or sea chart.
