Political events affect sleep: A study

According to researches, major social and political events can have a significant impact on mental health as well as sleep and mental well-being. Although conventional wisdom believes that highly anticipated events such as elections can cause stress and disrupt well-being.

Now, researchers and colleagues at Beth Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) show how major sociopolitical events can have global effects on sleep, linked to significant changes in the public’s collective mood, well-being, and alcohol consumption.
